RIYADH: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has held talks with White House adviser Jared Kushner on increasing cooperation between the Kingdom and the US.
Kushner, President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, met the crown prince and King Salman in Riyadh on Tuesday with US Middle East envoy Jason Greenblatt and special representative for Iran, Brian Hook.
“Building on previous conversations, they discussed increasing cooperation between the US and Saudi Arabia, and the Trump administration’s efforts to facilitate peace between the Israelis and Palestinians,” the White House said on Wednesday.
“Additionally, they discussed ways to improve the condition of the entire region through economic investment,” it said.
Kushner met leaders from the UAE, Bahrain and Oman earlier in the week, and traveled to Turkey on Wednesday.
The US president’s son-in-law was given responsibility for Washington’s Israel-Palestinian policy two years ago, but has not yet provided concrete details of the plan, which Trump has described as “the deal of the century.”
